Karli Bunn is a Chicago-based saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator currently attending DePaul University for her master’s in jazz studies. As a Quad City native and a Northern Illinois University alum, Bunn has performed a broad context of music, including Black American music, Latin, jazz, and modern fusion styles with ensembles including the Manny Lopez Big Band, Ten of Soul, Calaveras LD, the Jack Sundstrom Quartet, the Kabir Dalawari Quartet, the Isaiah Spencer Quintet, and the Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra. Bunn is also proficient in woodwind doubling and music technology while focusing her efforts on incorporating the aural tradition into modern innovation.
