Van Paugam & Friends — A 15-year retrospective on the music, collaborations, and community that influenced Van Paugam’s last decade and a half of living in Chicago.

Celebrating the book-end of his curation of the Whistler’s gallery installed in February, Paugam aims to come full circle with and update to old and new styles for the ever changing times.

Join us for the Chicago book launch of Bridget Gordon’s new collection, If you know the color of their eyes it’s already too late. Gordon’s work dives into desire, danger, and memory with biting humor and raw vulnerability, drawing from punk, queer, and underground culture.

The evening features a live reading from the book, a conversation and audience Q&A with the author, and a curated musical set to close out the night.

Rare Cuts is a night celebrating Disco: the music genre and the subculture that paved the way for house music. Featuring an all-vinyl set by Jackersize, they will dig deep into the classic four-on-the-floor sounds: Italo, psychedelic soul, French house, nu disco, post-disco and new wave.

This week, we’re flipping the script. Instead of a live band, the Relax Attack Jazz Series welcomes drummer, producer, and all-around vibe architect Clif Wallace for an all-vinyl DJ set.

A true multi-hyphenate — drummer, DJ, radio host (WDCB 90.9FM), composer, bandleader, and tastemaker — Clif brings his boundless love of music to every record he spins. His selections move through jazz and beyond, tracing grooves, moods, and rhythms that keep the night alive.

This one’s all about deep cuts, warm sound, and good company.

Ben Branda is a saxophonist, composer, and educator based in Chicago. Branda's music is rooted deeply in the jazz tradition while also drawing inspiration from soul, R&B, rock and roll, and hip-hop.

Award-winning jazz composer, vocalist, and pianist Lizzi Trumbore is known for her emotive voice, rhythmic drive, and her holistic approach to improvisation. Her compositions create a familiar canvas for new and unexpected ideas to be explored.

She is a published composer/ arranger, emerging jazz educator, and a 2026 recipient of the Luminarts Jazz fellowship.

Saxophonist Sofia Koulouvaris is one of Chicago’s most exciting young jazz voices. A remarkably skilled and expressive player for her age, she studied at DePaul University under master saxophonist Scott Burns and quickly established herself on the local scene. Her growing career already includes work with Soul Message, the Birch Creek Faculty Big Band, and DC & The Love, as well as leading her own quartet.
