A Chicago Review Poetry Reading

Jessi Gaston is a writer and filmmaker who resides in Chicago. They have a chapbook forthcoming from This Year & a book about the Marx brothers forthcoming from Propeller books.

Kai Ihns is a poet and filmmaker based in Chicago, where she works as a Humanities Teaching Fellow at UChicago. A former editor at Chicago Review 💜, she’s the author of two books of poetry, most recently Of (The Elephants, 2024).

Michael Martin Shea is the author of multiple chapbooks of poetry, including To Hell With Good Intentions (Beautiful Days Press, 2024) and the forthcoming volumes I'm Sorry But None of This Is My Fault (Essay Press, 2024) and Treat Culture (Creative Writing Department, 2025). His translation of Argentine poet Liliana Ponce's Theory of the Voice and Dream is also forthcoming from World Poetry Books in 2025. His poems and translations have appeared in Chicago Review, Conjunctions, Denver Quarterly, Fence, Guernica, New England Review, Poetry, VOLT, and elsewhere. He holds a doctorate in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory from the University of Pennsylvania and is currently an assistant professor of English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
