Tromblau&Friends is a Chicago-based band led by trombonist Emma Blau. The band plays Emma’s original compositions, which seek to emma-u-late her life through sound. Inspired by Black American Music and Jewish Music, her compositions combine freedom, play, and prayer in the pursuit of creating and entering alternate realities.

Together with trumpeter Dakarai Barclay, pianist Joshua Jessen, bassist Carmani Edwards and drummer Alejandro Salazar, the band brings the music to life with their unique and genuine playing personifying the Friends of Tromblau&Friends and inviting the audience along with them.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, we present Chicago’s top jazz artists in a lively atmosphere, full of cocktail-shaking and spirited conversation.
