Every Tuesday and Wednesday, we present Chicago’s top jazz artists in a lively atmosphere, full of cocktail-shaking and spirited conversation.

The Samples Trio are a Chicago group comprised of Lionel “Brother El” Freeman on electronics and effects, Isaiah Spencer on drums, percussion, and electronics, and Matt Davis on tuba. Together they create and play thru an array of snippets and sounds that lead to grooves such as house, boom bap, jazz, and go-go, as well as other rich sound palettes.
