Saxophonist Dave Rempis continues his ongoing series of saxophone drum duets at The Whistler with journeyman percussionist Isaiah Spencer.

Known across the jazz spectrum for his decades of work with artists from cutting-edge explorers like Fred Anderson, Nicole Mitchell, and William Parker to more mainstream legends like Von Freeman, Clark Terry, and Donald Harrison, Spencer has become a Chicago jazz mainstay.  Nowadays, he's taken on a crucial role as an educator serving as a teacher and mentor for a nonprofit organization called Youth Guidance, and as a percussion teacher and assistant band director at New Trier High School.
