  • Step 2: Find a handful of blocks that speak to you.

  • Step 3: Arrange your blocks together into a unique masterpiece.

Meet the people behind local furniture studio Offcut and shop one-of-a-kind pieces made entirely from wood scrap.

Offcut is a line of furniture and home goods designed and built in Chicago, created entirely from the excess scrap material of a busy custom woodworking shop. New pieces are released every month depending on what we have to work with - simple thoughtful designs made with high quality materials.

Offcut also hosts exhibitions, workshops, and scrap sales at our Logan Square showroom (3951 W. Belden Ave.), and works with partners to distribute extra wood to students or other woodworking communities, to further our mission of turning waste material into cool stuff.

Jason Lewis is the creative director of Offcut. He runs a production woodworking shop in Chicago and has been making fine wood furniture professionally for 20+ years.

Lesley Jackson is the co-designer and education coordinator for Offcut. She also teaches at various schools in Chicago and has her own space where she runs workshops called the Little Craft School.
