Mutualism w/ Ariel Zetina, Panty, Starka

MUTUALISM requires (and provides) high quality masks indoors to center safety and accessibility. COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses (like the flu and RSV) are risks to all when gathering, but especially for immunocompromised and other disabled and higher-risk people. MUTUALISM believes that all people should have access to all types of spaces, including music and dance spaces. MUTUALISM adds to the blooming ecosystem of COVID-safer events in Chicago through a combination of requiring high quality masks indoors, purifying the indoor air, and offering an outdoor, mask encouraged space.

The Whistler will require high quality masks to be worn indoors for this one-off event to create a safer space for people to enjoy music and be in community, especially in support of immunocompromised and other disabled and higher-risk people. Air purifiers provided by Clean Air Club will be used to clean the indoor air of pathogens and other air pollutants.

This is an effort to provide a COVID-safer event that is focused on invigorating music and dance. COVID-safety is made possible by communal and collective efforts - while we all try to do our best to make the space safer, let’s also try to give each other grace and space for positive transformation.
