Chicago saxophonist and composer Arman Sangalang is an established voice in the city’s jazz scene, recognized for his 2023 debut album Quartet on Calligram Records, which earned Best First Release as Leader from RadioRadioX. He has performed alongside artists like Jon Irabagon, Bruce Forman, Sylvia Cuenca, Clark Sommers, and Camila Mennitte, appearing at major venues and festivals including the Chicago Jazz Festival, Hyde Park Jazz Festival, and The Green Mill. Sangalang’s work has been supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council and DCASE, and he’s been honored with fellowships and residencies from the Boysie Lowery Living Jazz Residency, Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy, and the Jazz Institute of Chicago.
