Alameda

(Elliott Smith cover)
Wills Mckenna Quintet

Nobody broke your heart—
You broke your own ’cause you can’t finish what you start.

At its core the Wills Mckenna Quintet is a jazz band, but they draw from a variety of styles, as heard on their cover of Elliott Smith’s 1997 classic, “Alameda”. Using a double guitar and tenor sax formation, the group explores the melodic paths of one of Smith’s most beloved songs.

  • Wills Mckenna — Tenor Saxophone

  • Jeff Swanson — Guitar

  • Matt Gold — Guitar

  • Lane Beckstrom — Bass

  • Matt Carroll — Drums

Recorded live at The Whistler. Mastered by Dan Pierson.
