Light Bands is the next in a series of conceptual optical installations in the Whistler Storefront Gallery by Robert Brenner. In this installment, Brenner transforms the storefront into a large scale magic lantern. The windows of the gallery, painted white, provide a canvas for an ever changing light painting which appears slowly as the sun sets. This gradual appearance is due to the instrument of color delivery to the windows: analog powered rotating lamps. Through this installation, Brenner seeks to create a mysterious, meditative, beautiful and optical discovery.
