Come and celebrate the release of two new books by Ander Monson (The Gnome Stories and I Will Take the Answer) with a preview of essays from 2020’s March Badness tournament, in which 64 writers write essays about 64 bad songs, and play a competitive NCAA-March Madness-style tournament during the month of March in which those songs and essays face off game by game against each other, decided by popular vote, in which only one song and essay is crowned the National Champion at month’s end.
It’s sports for people who like literature, or literature for people who like sports, or games for people who like games. March Badness is Crazy, Awesome, Stupid, or Sublime, but it is definitely a spectacle.
This evening will preview the tournament and will feature great writing about bad songs and bad things, accompanied by bad songs and even worse music videos. Come and fill out a (free) tournament bracket to enter, and enjoy our tour back through the glorious badness of our pasts.
