Midnight Sun

September 2011

Artist: Viktor Van Bramer

Midnight Sun is a collection of work that uses traveling through a dynamic landscape as an analog for love and growth. Materials such as volcanic ash, flood-stained fabric, glitter, and LEDs are used with a quiet restraint meant to draw out the essential connection between a journey and its emotional after-image. Unnecessary details are eschewed, and while the works are minimally rendered, they are not cold. At the core of each piece is love, sentimentality, and the thrill of discovering emotional landscapes, cast in new light by a foreign sun.

Viktor van Bramer has exhibited cautiously. He lives in Chicago, IL.
