Glad Cloud is a monthly series that celebrates the rich landscape of Chicago musicians working with ambient music. Curated by Benjamin Mjolsness, the series provides an opportunity for ambient artists to color the air, walls, and liquids of the Whistler in a deliberately non-intrusive manner. Visitors can enjoy their cocktails and companions while the music envelops the room around them.
 
Dan Mohr is a member of the Chicago based ambient ensemble Dhalgren (with Adam Vida, Sam Wagster, Alex Inglizian).  Before forming Dhalgren, Mohr played in a number of ambient/drone groups such as Dreamweapon (DRMWPN), Relaxation Record and Gleaming.  He is also a frequent collaborator in many experimental composition projects and is an active improviser with musicians across Chicago's experimental/jazz/noise/ambient spectrum.
 
Jordan Martins plays guitar and steel guitar, as a sideman for space-country singer Angela James, loose folk/ambient ensemble The Plastic Council, and in various improvisation-based projects.
 
 
A recent transplant from the Los Angeles music and studio scene, guitarist Peter Maunu has toured, performed and recorded with a long list of diverse musicians including Charles Lloyd, Mark Isham, Jeff Beale, Jean luc Ponty, Tony Williams, Billy Cobham, Nels Cline, Steve Cardenas, Steve Tavaglione, Archie Shepp, Joachim Kuhn, Airto Moriera, Egberto Gismonti, Bobby McFerrin, Patrick O'Hearn, The Fourth Way, Group 87, Grace Slick, Claus Ogerman. He performed live nightly for five years with the Arsenio Hall Show Band, accompanying legends such as Madonna, Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Ringo Starr, Warren Zevon, Ray Charles, jamming with hip hop artists like NWA, Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions. Additionally, Peter has worked with numerous composers, contributing to the soundtracks and film scores of countless television series, documentaries and feature films including Crash, The Secret Life of Bees, Bobby, Food Inc., Chicago Hope, CSI New York, Chuck, Arrested Development.
